New album, "I HAIL I", their 5th studio album and first full-length released in 16 years out May 1st, 2026. 

 

Recorded and mixed in Chicago at Jamdek Studios and Hypercube by longtime recording engineer and new bassist, Sanford Parker (Yob, Eyehategod, Darkthrone).

 

Formed in 2003 and signed to Southern Lord Records just one month after their first show. Chicago death-doom metal warriors Lair of the Minotaur have released 4 full-length albums, and 3 EP’s; interconnected concept records based on the bloodier tales of mythology. 

 

The band has toured extensively across North America and Europe, crushing all in their path with their own brand of heavy fucking metal that has been likened to being beat to death with a spiked club. In the words of Maximum Metal, “If there is a [band] heavier than this, then I have simply never heard it.”

 

Lair of the Minotaur is making their 2nd appearance at the Maryland Deathfest, on Thursday, May 21st 2026 at Nevermore Hall with Bongzilla, Rwake, Avernus and Black Lung.
