Crowhurst is a boundary-erasing force in extreme music — a project that has spent more than a decade dismantling genre walls while cultivating a fiercely devoted international following. Founded by Jay Gambit in 2011, the band emerged from the underground noise scene but rapidly expanded into a formidable hybrid of black metal, sludge, power electronics, dark ambient, and experimental composition. The result is a body of work widely recognized for its emotional intensity, textural depth, and refusal to compromise.

Prolific almost to the point of myth, Crowhurst has released an extensive catalog spanning raw analog experiments, collaborative releases with respected figures in heavy and experimental music, and fully realized studio albums that have drawn critical praise for their atmosphere, sonic weight, and artistic ambition. The project has earned a reputation not just for productivity, but for evolution — each release pushing further into new sonic and conceptual territory.

Conceptually baroque and creatively unrestrained, Crowhurst enters its latest era with THORNS, a new album arriving this fall. The record continues the project’s trajectory toward deeper emotional resonance and crushing sonic scope, reaffirming Crowhurst’s place as one of the most uncompromising and distinctive voices operating at the intersection of extreme metal and experimental sound.
